a) The DEANS Board discussed funding for a new Andersen mascot costume for the 2021/2022 school year with Ryan Kahn, who previously agreed to be the mascot. The DEANS Board voted to approve the purchase of a new costume from Aardvark Mascots, based on turnaround time, price and quality.

b) The PTA Co-Presidents presented upcoming PTA events for the 2021/2022 school year. Dates were compared with potential DEANS events to eliminate conflicts and ensure consistent activity throughout the school year. The 2021/2022 event calendar will kick off with Big Friday on August 20th, which will provide Andersen families the opportunity to learn about various Andersen and community activities. Additionally, Andersen students will have the opportunity to find out who their teacher will be for the upcoming school year.

c) Nate deSousa provided an update on the successful 4th of July event, which raised close to $4,000 for the DEANS Foundation.  

d) Darren Anthony provided a financial update and wrap-up for the 2020/2021 school year, as well as preliminary budget thoughts for 2021/2022. The Board approved a preliminary budget of for 2021/2022 expenses of $340,000+.

e) Tim Blackburn provided a preliminary update and planning discussion for the 2022 Golf Tournament. After discussing the merits of various locations, the Board agreed to look into two primary options for 2022: Aliso Viejo Country Club (site of the 2021 Andersen DEANS Port Street Invitational) and Strawberry Farms Golf Club.
