A Letter From 2013/2014 DEANs President Kyle Anderson Monday, November 25, 2013

Dear Andersen Parents,

We welcome you to the 2013-14 school year.  We are committed to working with students, parents and faculty this year to achieve our mission:  Eliminating Andersen’s Needs.

Andersen maintains its designation as a California Distinguished School, and through collaborative efforts we will continue to provide funding to sustain the highest educational standards and most fulfilling experience for our students.

Our Highest Priorities For This Year Are To Fund:

  • Six credentialed teachers to improve the student/teacher ratio
  • Two academic support positions
  • Wireless network infrastructure and mobile computers (iPad or similar) for e-learning capabilities
  • A security camera system to provide a higher measure of safety
  • Physical Education instructor for grades K - 3

The DEANS Foundation will spend approximately $800 for every student at Andersen Elementary this year.  In order to continue providing Andersen with these funds to support the greatest opportunities for our children’s success, we need your help.

Three Ways to Get Involved:

  • Join The DEANs
  • Attend regularly scheduled board meetings (bring your ideas)
  • Volunteer for fundraisers and/or leadership

Last year, student described the Andersen DEANs as “A family who gives money to the school.”  We welcome you into our family and look forward to another great year of supporting our neighborhood’s primary influence and geographic center:  Andersen Elementary.

Sincerely,
Kyle Anderson
2012 - 2014 DEANs President

About Kyle…Born and raised on the other side of the bay, I have been a lifelong resident of Newport Beach.  Our family set down our roots in the Port Streets in 2010, and we were immediately inspired by the community, the school and the DEANs.  I got involved in every way I could, getting to know lots of great families along the way.  My wife, Danielle, has also been inspired and will be responsible for the Andersen Dolphin’s year book and the “box top” program for a second term.  We have a son, Billy, in 2nd grade and a daughter, Gabi, in 1st grade.
